UPDATE: SUMMER TERM 2024

“We have had a busy few terms as usual.

December saw the culmination of a hard working term with both RAD and ISTD exam sessions – I was extremely proud of all the students’ efforts with everyone receiving either Merit or Distinction.  An amazing achievement.

We are now awaiting results from further ISTD exams taken this term.

Some of our dancers also enjoyed a busy day of classes at the Move It dance exhibition in London.

In April we held our full school show, ‘Rags to Riches’, at Oasis Academy. After several months of intense rehearsals, the students gave two near-sell-out performances which were very well received.  It was fantastic to feel the joy and excitement through the whole cast and we raised an amazing £958.67 which was donated to Abby’s Heroes.

Performance Team dancers were invited to support En Masse choir in their show and gave an entertaining performance of their Flashdance number.  They also gave stunning performances in a long 50 minute set in aid of Abby’s Heroes in West Quay.

Our festival competitors have excelled themselves once again with a record number of pupils qualifying dances for Regional and National finals of the All England Dance competition.  They have performed at numerous qualifying festivals across the region to earn this opportunity and I was overwhelmed by the improvement in the performance quality I saw during Regional finals week. I’m looking forward to seeing the culmination of this at National Finals in Wolverhampton in July.  Well done everyone.

Several of our dancers took part in the ISTD Janet Cram Awards.  This was the first time the school had entered this event and the girls loved their classes.

Congratulations also to India, Isla and Emily who reached the finals of the RAD South East Region Awards Day in London with a special mention to India who was Runner Up in class A.

Have a relaxing summer break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back from Friday 6th September.”
