We have had another fantastic year. The summer term saw both RAD ballet and ISTD modern exams with 100% pass rate and some amazing results.  I was very impressed by the dedication and hard work of all the students involved. Our pupil showcase took place in April – the students gave a terrific display for an appreciative audience.  It is always lovely to watch all their hard work in class translate to a stage performance.  We were also able to make a donation to Abby’s Heroes. The sun shone brightly for North Baddesley Village Day and we had a fun day running our stall and performing in the arena.  It was lovely to see the community coming together for this annual event. “We have had a busy few terms as usual. December saw the culmination of a hard working term with both RAD and ISTD exam sessions – I was extremely proud of all the students’ efforts with everyone receiving either Merit or Distinction.  An amazing achievement. We are now awaiting results from further ISTD exams taken this term. Some of our dancers also enjoyed a busy day of classes at the Move It dance exhibition in London. In April we held our full school show, ‘Rags to Riches’, at Oasis Academy. After several months of intense rehearsals, the students gave two near-sell-out performances which were very well received.  It was fantastic to feel the joy and excitement through the whole cast and we raised an amazing £958.67 which was donated to Abby’s Heroes. Come and enjoy a wonderful show featuring excerpts from the story of ‘Cinderella’ in Act 1, followed by a variety show inspired by the theme ‘Rags to Riches’ Pupils have worked incredibly hard and are extremely excited to perform for you. We will be raising funds for Abbys Heroes.

Dear Parents/Students I hope you have had a good Easter break and I’m excited to welcome everyone back for the summer term. We had a fantastic Spring term culminating in our full school show. This was our first show since 2019 due to Covid so it was wonderful to see all our students back on stage. Thanks for all the support we received from family and friends, we raised £580 for each of our chosen charities – Baby Necessities and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We are so excited for it to be that time of year again to organise our annual show. This years show is extra special as it is 10 years since I took over as principal of the school. The production will be our 10th Anniversary Gala Performance entitled ‘Forever Young’. The show will take place on Sunday 10th April 2022, with a matinee (2.30pm) and evening (6.30pm) performance. The first half of the show will include excerpts from the story of Peter Pan and the second half will be a variety show based on the theme of ‘Youth’. We have continued to see an enthusiastic response to our online classes during the spring term.  This is obviously not the situation we would like to be in but hopefully now there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are awaiting updated guidance from the government but have been working hard to put plans in place to return to in-person classes as soon as the regulations allow.  If things go to plan this could be from 19th April but we are dependent on the opening of our hired venues.
