We had a fantastic response to our online classes during the summer term. Students showed dedication and perseverance with technology to continue with their dance studies from home and made good progress. We decided to take a break over the summer as normal to allow everyone to rest ready for the new term.
We are awaiting updated guidance from the government but have been working hard to put plans in place to return to in-person classes as soon as the regulations allow.
Unfortunately, at present I am unable to run Junior or Senior Jazz, Greek or Acro classes as these classes contain too many different age groups together and do not conform to government ‘bubbling’ requirements. I am also not allowed to ‘spot’ any skills in acro.
Over the summer some of our pupils have been taking part in Online dance festivals/Southern Dance Class Awards online and have performed fantastically. Well done to all those involved – including families who re-arranged furniture to facilitate this!
It was also lovely to catch up with a few of our senior pupils at a small socially-distanced picnic during the holidays. Thanks to Erin for helping to capture some lovely photos.
Thank you to all those who completed the Return to Dance survey. Those who replied have been allocated a space in the relevant classes. The website is being updated with the revised timetable for the new term. In order to comply with reduced class sizes and minimising interactions between age groups, there are quite a few changes. We will return to our normal timetable as soon as we can but our priority is keeping our students and their families safe whilst trying to resume some normality.
Guidelines for students will be emailed to parents so they can familiarise themselves with our new health and safety procedures.
We require all pupils to complete the covid registration please that is pinned to the top of the news page prior to returning to classes.

- Autumn Term Commences – Monday 7th September 2020
- Half Term (no classes) – Sunday 25th October – Sunday 1st November inclusive.
- Autumn Term Finishes – Saturday 5th December 2020.
